PDX Dance Collective is excited to announce a new project!
We are inviting local dance artists to join us as a part of our 2017 PDX Choreographers Showcase. This is going to be a supportive, fun, collaborative weekend of dance and we hope to see you there.

Who: We are looking for dance choreographers of all styles to participate in this exciting event. The only requirement we have is that you (and your dancers) are over 18 years of age and that your dance material is appropriate for an all ages crowd. We also ask that you keep the number of dancers in your group to a maximum of 8-10 people and your piece(s) to be showcased under 15 mins in length (5-15 mins is ideal).

What: This is a collaborative event aimed at giving local dance artists an opportunity to showcase choreography in a professional setting. PDX Dance Collective’s mission is to embody diversity and express passion through a shared vision of creating inspired and innovative art. We invite you to bring your voice, your creativity, and your art to the stage with us!

When & Where: This event is taking place May 26, 27, and 28, 2017 at The Headwaters Theatre in Portland, OR. Headwaters is an intimate black box performance venue that seats approx. 66 people. The dimensions of the performance space are 33’ x 23.’ PDX Dance Collective hires a professional lighting designer and sound technician to ensure the show will run smoothly and efficiently.

Details: The application deadline is March 27, 2017. Upon acceptance into the showcase, there is a $35 registration fee. PDX Dance Collective is run and supported entirely by its members and by those who attend our shows; as such we ask for your participation to help with show promotion and ticket sales. To participate in this event, we are asking that each choreographer/dance group be responsible for pre-selling a small amount of tickets (based on number of participants in your dance). If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us at pdxdance.collective@gmail.com.
