Call For Dancers

Saturday, February 11th 4-6pm
@The New Day Center For The Arts

PDX Dance Collective is currently seeking dancers to participate in our upcoming full length performance. We are holding an open call for dancers and movers Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 4-6pm at The New Day Center – 5516 SE Foster Rd. PDX. Join us as we guide you through a warm up, choreography phrases from several of PDX Dance Collective’s members, and a chance to show your own style through guided improvisation. PDX Dance Collective provides a friendly non-competitive dance environment where self-expression and individuality are celebrated. As such, we are looking for people to work with us who approach dance with a positive, open, and non-judgmental attitude.

For our 8th production, each of PDX Dance Collective’s choreographers will create works that explore an emotion. The show will be put together to bring the audience through an emotional life-cycle. Our show dates are set for May 26, 27 & 28, 2017. Depending on how many pieces you participate in, rehearsal attendance will vary, but full company rehearsals will occur on Saturday afternoons at 2pm with additional days/times added depending on dancers’ schedules.

A few things to keep in mind: No need to bring a resume/headshot but if you have one handy it is helpful. We will have everyone fill out a short form when they arrive, so please arrive a little early! Also, we mostly dance in bare feet, we will be dancing on a wood floor, but if you are more comfortable in dance shoes please bring those. Feel free to wear anything that you’re comfortable moving in.

Please send us a message if you have any questions. Otherwise, we’ll see you there!
